The Republican Representative GEORGE ANTHONY DEVOLDER SANTOS, aka George Santos surrendered to federal authorities at a courthouse in Long Island, NY on Wednesday May 10, 2023.
He has been indicted for 13 counts of criminal wrongdoing.
U.S. Attorney Breon Peace in a statement said in a statement, “This indictment seeks to hold Santos accountable for various alleged fraudulent schemes and brazen misrepresentations,” He continued, “Taken together, the allegations in the indictment charge Santos with relying on repeated dishonesty and deception to ascend to the halls of Congress and enrich himself.”
George Santos, age 34, pleaded not guilty to all 13 counts.
George Santos was released on $500,000.00 bond bail and agreed to surrender his passport and limit his travel to between New York, his home State, and Washington DC where he works in the U.S congress. Below is the detail of the 13 indictment charges for readers.
